Partners & HUG: A User's Guide

By Evan Morrell posted 10-21-2020 14:24

So you've joined Higher Logic's Partner Program and ended up in HUG.  What's the skinny?

HUG is the Higher Logic Users Group community that uses Higher Logic's Online Community Platform to engage with Higher Logic clients.  It is meant solely for the community of Higher Logic subscribers, staff and partners, thus you must be either a subscriber or staff or partner to participate in the community.  Generally it's a place where those using Higher Logic software can ask each other questions. But more than asking about specific platform features, it's where to learn about the strategy around using our platform, and hearing from other users as to why they use the platform one way and not another.

There certainly are questions about functionality, and there are a variety of resources in HUG to help our clients, and partners, be successful:
  • Communities- where there are many discussions around our products
  • Support
    • Knowledge Base- searchable Higher Logic product documentation
    • Cases - where clients create tickets.  You too can open tickets; the instructions are here.
  • HL Academy Training
    • Live Training Events- live, in-person training classes on our platforms.  These have limited space and there is a $99 fee to ensure people show up
    • Distance Learning- free, live, all-day online training classes on our platforms
    • Webinars- short live webinars on topics such as advertising, automation rules, subscriber and contact management
    • Academy Online- short, self-paced training courses on a variety of Higher Logic modules
  • Partner Portal- This specific community has all partners subscribed to it, so any messages posted here will go to all partners. It also has logos and other resources specifically for partners.
You are automatically be subscribed to the daily digest from the Partner Portal and the Announcements communities.  You can also browse our other communities and subscribe to them.  You can view your subscriptions on your Profile.

While you are on your Profile, feel free to fill out/update your information.  It's always good to have a picture and bio so folks know who you are.

As an active member of our community, Partners are allowed to post messages.  However, you must adhere to HUG's Code of Conduct.  Participation in HUG is a privilege granted to partners of Higher Logic, and violation of the code of conduct will result in your removal from HUG.  As a general rule, if you are mentioning the company you work for or product you sell, you are most likely violating our code of conduct.  HUG is a place to share information not sell your solutions. Also, as a partner, you are seen as a champion of Higher Logic; please be carful of your tone when posting messages so they don't reflect poorly on either of our companies.

Have questions?  Post them to the Partner Portal Community, or email the Partnership Team (partners@higherlogic.com) or contact HUG's community manager, Shannon Emery.
